the inner feeling

Pop Art tended to focus on billboards, comic stripsand supermarket advertisements. This give the public somehting to relate to when they saw the art, allowing them to give more respect and have something in common with what had been produced. Popular and high culture where fused together to get rid of teh difference between as the economic state at teh time wasnt so great so people where restricted with what material possesions they could afford to buy, such as pieces of art. If you where to come across a peice of art and wanted to know whether it was pop art or not, probably the easiest way to determine would be to ask yourself "is it something you see in everyday life?", a pack of cigs? a tin of soup? a man sitting in a cafe window?.. all these things can be used and defined as pop art.
